Factory Outlet Shopping in Brisbane: Where to get Fantastic Bargains on Clothes, Homewares and More

An outlet store, also known as a factory outlet is a manufacturer’s retail store that sells overstocked or out of season items at a much lower price than generally found at other retail stores. Factory outlets can also sell seconds or slightly damaged pieces at a cut cost. Sometimes in season stock can be found as well.

Brisbane has a wide selection of factory outlet shopping which attracts both locals and tourists each week

DFO – Direct Factory Outlet

Direct Factory Outlet is a large shopping complex chain in Australia with two locations in Brisbane. The first location was opened at the Brisbane Airport, and a second and smaller location in the western suburb of Jindalee.

The airport complex has over 90 superior brand outlet stores containing merchandise from discontinued lines, previous season’s stock, and other special purchases. DFO has everything from designer clothing and shoes to books and homewares and makes for a great day out shopping.

Harbour Town offers a different atmosphere than other outlet centres in south east Queensland due to its proximity to the Gold Coast. It also has a few different stores, such as the speciality discount linen and lingerie stores.

Stone’s Corner Outlet Shopping

Since the DFO stores have come to Brisbane, Stone’s Corner’s popularity has suffered immensely, however there are still a few bargains to be found in this suburban street way. Stone’s Corner is located approximately ten minutes south of the city and easily accessible by public transport.

Despite the fact that many stores have shut down, and the area is pending renovations, there are still many great bargains to be found here. Some of the best buys here are at the Table Eight Clearance store, as well as several of the shoe and bag shops.

Other Factory Outlet Shopping in Brisbane

There are other Direct Factory Outlet stores in Brisbane that are not part of a shopping complex.

There are several Trade Secret stores located in the Brisbane area that focus on selling low cost brand label clothes, with discounts of up to 60% from what is offered in other stores. Trade Secret has clothing for men, women, teenagers, children and babies as well as a selection of homewares.
